With over thirty years of experience, Marty is a trusted legal advisor to organizations across the nonprofit and philanthropic sectors. An expert in charitable fundraising, nonprofit, and tax-exempt law, Marty helps clients navigate the complex legal landscape surrounding public charity qualification, charitable solicitation regulations, and compliance for fundraising professionals.

Marty also advises on nonprofit governance, political solicitation laws, fundraising strategy, and emerging issues like social media fundraising practices. In addition to day-to-day counsel, Marty has represented clients in administrative and regulatory compliance hearings across the country, offering strategic guidance to ensure organizations can meet their missions while staying on solid legal ground.

Marty and his wife reside in the Brookside neighborhood of Kansas City and are the proud parents of three adult children.  When not in the office, he enjoys playing golf, visiting his adult children and spending time with family and friends.
